  • Yield: 12 servings 1x

Description

If you love soft, bakery style treats, you have to try these Strawberry Glazed Donuts. They are fluffy, sweet, and coated in a bright strawberry glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Strawberry Glaze:

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 34 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Substitution Options:

  • Gluten-free: Replace all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking flour
  • Dairy-free: Use plant-based milk and vegan butter
  • Vegan: Substitute eggs with 2 flax eggs (2 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 6 tablespoons water, mixed and rested for 5 minutes)

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prep
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 12-cup donut pan well.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk melted butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.

4. Make the Batter
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined. A few lumps are fine.

5. Fill and Bake
Fill donut pan cavities about ⅔ full. Bake 12–15 minutes until tops spring back and edges pull slightly from the pan.

6. Make the Strawberry Glaze
Mash strawberries until mostly smooth. Whisk in powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth and pourable.

7. Glaze and Serve
Cool donuts for about 10 minutes. Dip tops in glaze, let excess drip off, and place on a rack to set for 5–10 minutes before serving.
