Ingredients
For the Vanilla Base:
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1¾ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1¼ cups whole milk
For the Chocolate Swirl:
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons hot water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
Prep Pan & Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or two round pans.Mix Dry Ingredients
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.Make Chocolate Batter
Mix cocoa powder with hot water and melted butter until smooth. Set aside.Cream Butter & Sugar
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.Add Eggs & Vanilla
Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.Combine Batter
Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, mixing just until combined.Create Marble Swirl
Mix some vanilla batter into the chocolate mixture. Spoon both batters into the pan and gently swirl with a knife.Bake
Bake 45–50 minutes, until a toothpick shows a few moist crumbs.Cool & Serve
Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
