For the Cake:
2½ cups all-purpose flour

For the Buttercream Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
4 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Pink, purple, and yellow food coloring
Edible glitter or pearl dust
Additional Supplies:
1 Barbie doll (new, with legs removed)
Dome-shaped cake pan or large mixing bowl
Piping bags and star tips

Instructions
1. Bake the Cake
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease your dome pan.
Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour.
Pour batter into dome pan, bake 45–55 mins, toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
2. Prepare Barbie & Cake Structure
Carefully remove cake, dome-side up.
Cut a small hole at the top center for Barbie’s legs. Wrap legs in plastic.
3. Make Buttercream & Color
Beat butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla. Divide and tint with food coloring.
4. Frost the Cake
Apply a thin crumb coat, chill 30 mins.
Use piping bags to create rosettes, swirls, and ruffles simulating the gown. Decorate with edible glitter or pearl dust.
